NATIONALGEOGRAPHIC

This artist book is a cover-to-cover reproduction of an entire issue of “the National Geographic”, each spread partially redacted using simple graphic designs that slowly evolve as the reader makes their way through its pages. The visually flat space of the graphics interacts strangely with the shallow depth of the scanned magazine, but also the deep illusionary space of the original photos. This intervention is simultaneously experienced as cut-away and a cover-up. A weird space is opened up, visually, temporally, and conceptually.
